At the far end of the garden, behind a little wooden fence, lived Granny Rose.

Her garden wasn’t the biggest, nor the tidiest.
But it overflowed with flowers, colors… and calm.

BeeBee loved to land there.

“Good morning, BeeBee,” said Granny Rose one morning while watering her rose bushes.

BeeBee stopped mid-air.

“She… she talked to me?” she whispered.

Granny Rose smiled softly, as if speaking to a bee were the most natural thing in the world.

“You know,” she went on, “flowers are more beautiful when you say hello to them.”

BeeBee settled on a rose.

Every day, Granny Rose came to her garden.
She talked about her memories, about time passing, about things you can no longer see but can still feel.

BeeBee didn’t understand all the words.
But she understood the voice.

When Granny Rose was sad, BeeBee stayed close.
When she laughed, BeeBee buzzed a little louder.

One afternoon, Granny Rose sat down on a bench.

“You know, BeeBee, sometimes I feel a little lonely.”

BeeBee flew closer and landed on her hand.
She didn’t sting.
She just stayed there.

Granny Rose closed her eyes.

“Thank you,” she whispered.

The garden seemed to breathe with them.

From that day on, Granny Rose often said:
“The bees understand me.”

And BeeBee knew that wasn’t quite true.

But she also knew that sometimes, just being there is enough to understand each other.
