The Bee Dance

The Bee Dance
🎧 Listen to the story

In the hive, it was the big day.

“Today,” announced the queen, “each of you must dance to show where the nectar can be found.”

BeeBee gulped.

The bee dance was very important.
One step to the left, a flap of the wings, a precise circle. No more, no less.

BeeBee watched the others.
They danced perfectly.

When her turn came, her wings trembled.

She started… then stopped.

“I can’t do it,” she whispered.

So BeeBee thought about the garden.
About the flowers she loved.
About the paths she took, sometimes different ones.

She took a deep breath… and began to dance in her own way.

Her steps weren’t perfect, but they told a story.
The hill, the stream, the little modest flower by the side of the path.

The hive went quiet.

When BeeBee finished, nobody spoke right away.

Then one bee cried out:
“I understand! The nectar is near the stream!”

Another added:
“And behind the flat stone!”

The queen smiled.

“The dance is for sharing,” she said. “And BeeBee shared in her own way.”

The bees cheered, flapping their wings.

BeeBee felt her heart fill with warmth.

That day, she understood something precious:
there are a thousand ways to dance…
as long as you dance with sincerity.
