Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there was a very kind little girl whom everyone loved. Her grandmother loved her most of all and had given her a pretty red hood. The little girl wore it so often that everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One morning, her mother said to her:
“Your grandmother is ill. Could you take her this cake and this little pot of butter?”

Little Red Riding Hood happily agreed and set off at once. To reach her grandmother’s house, she had to cross a big forest.

Along the way, she met a wolf. He seemed polite, but his eyes sparkled in a strange way.
”Good morning, Little Red Riding Hood,” he said. “Where are you going?"
"I’m going to visit my grandmother,” she replied. “She lives on the other side of the forest.”

The wolf had a cunning idea. He suggested:
“Why not pick some pretty flowers for her? She would surely be delighted.”

Little Red Riding Hood thought it was an excellent idea. She stopped to gather colorful flowers, while the wolf ran as fast as he could to the grandmother’s house.

Arriving first, the wolf entered the house and hid. Then he slipped into the bed, pretending to be the grandmother.

When Little Red Riding Hood finally arrived, she quietly entered the bedroom.
”Hello, Grandmother…”

But something seemed strange.
”What big ears you have!"
"All the better to hear you with, my child."
"What big eyes you have!"
"All the better to see you with."
"And what big teeth you have!"
"All the better to eat you with!”

Fortunately, a hunter who was passing near the house heard the noise. He rushed in just in time, chased the wolf away, and saved both the grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood.

Very frightened but safe and sound, the little girl promised never to talk to strangers again and to always listen to her mother’s advice.

And from that day on, she crossed the forest with care… and a little more wisdom 🌲❤️
