The Sea and the Seashells
The sea rolls in with gentle waves,
On warm sand where my footstep stays.
The seashells, huddled, softly speak
Stories the sea shares, calm and meek.
I lift one close against my ear,
And hear the oceanโs whisper clear,
As if the sea itself were bound
Inside one shell, so small and round.
I build a castle out of sand,
With turrets rising, tall and grand.
A gentle wave rolls in to play,
And wipes it all so soft away.
The sun goes down, the day grows still,
My bucket holds a shell to fill.
Tomorrow the sea will still be there,
With new stories to share and share.
